central station design
Pat Carroll, Karen Jackson and Matt Carroll founded the design company Central Station Design. The company was associated with Factory Records and the British music scene in the 1980s and in the early 1990s was developed in the Manchester area and became known as Madchester. This music was a mixture of: alternative rock, psychedelic rock abd electronic dance music. Some factory artists benefited from this company, as it had created album artwork for them. The Happy Mondays, Black Grape and James were some factory artists that Central Station Design had created album cover artwork for.
I like their work because it is very expressive, it contains big bold text which compliments the image and has a positive vibe due to the fact a variety of colours are used to make it stand out. I think the main theme behind their work is happiness, because they use bright colours and when they feature people in their art work they are pulling happy faces.
