Robert rauschenberg
Robert Rauschenberg was an American painter and graphic artist who worked with the pop art movement. He worked with materials then manipulated them with computer software to create his final outcomes. He his well known for his combines which were a combination of his photography, prints, paper art and painted work.

Robert Rauschenberg uses mixed media work to communicate his ideas to the audience. His combine art work really influenced people because at the time it was original. Rauschenberg believed that art work and life couldn't be made but it could painted, which is why he used painting to express his true thoughts and feelings. He is seen as very influencial due to the fact he combined his paintings with his computer based work. His work appears to be from an older period of time and some of it is three dimensional. I like his style because I find his work eye catching the use of images, range of colours and the decision to work on a bigger scale makes his work look visually strong. From his work I feel negative and positive emotions, positive because his work educates the viewer on events and is very detailed; but also negative because the use of blues, reds, blacks and browns suggest a negative atmosphere even thought the art itself doesn't appear to reference to a negative event in history. After working with Robert Rauschenberg it has helped me to combine my digital and traditional art work together, give them both the same meaning, combine them together and enjoy working with three dimensional materials.
I have looked at Robert Rauschenbergs work and responded by using mixed media to show a narrative. This image is based on the deacde 2000 when 911 took place, I have chosen to rip rather than cut parts of magazines and newspaper out to emphasise the anarchy and chaos that took place and emphasise how the innocent people effected by 911 had no control over the situation.
